Day Two: 3/14/20

Day One was a Friday--Carlos and I were home, and school hadn't yet been called off.  But in an abundance of caution, we kept the boys home.  We were pretty sure school would be called off by Monday anyway (and it was).  We didn't do much except let the boys play on electronics.  I made a very early trip to the supermarket and went to an empty workplace to pick up things I needed.

Day Two:

We took an early morning hike around the Town Forest.  It's 3 miles, and it was lovely.  We used the opportunity to talk about nature and the natural world around us.  We found some cool stuff in the woods.
Is this an old Native American sign?  They used to bend trees at right angles to mark trails and directions...it sure looks like one to me.  Made for some interesting conversation and a learning opportunity.  https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/did-native-americans-bend-these-trees-to-mark-trails

There was a tree leaning against another.  But there was a metal platform at the top of the supporting tree.  Why??

Getting the garden ready

Making geodes

Taking apart an old computer

The boys got haircuts (by me).  And are being goofs, per usual!
